Q:

How do I turn on Anonymous access to my site?

A: There are 2 parts to this.

Part 1 - We must set the option to on, in the site configuration for your site on the server. Because most people do not run SharePoint this way, we do not turn this on by default. To request we turn on anonymous access for your site, open a support ticket at http://helpdesk.724hosting.com

Part 2 - You must go into Site Settings on your site and turn it on.

On SharePoint Version2, Click Site Settings, Then Go to Site Administration, and then click Manage Anonymous access and click the box displayed to turn it on. Then click SAVE.

On SharePoitn Version 3, follow the below steps.

To perform this procedure, an administrator must have enabled anonymous access for the Web application. If they haven't done so, the Anonymous Access option does not appear. This is Step 1 above, so you need to be sure we turn the option on for you before you continue to the next step.

Open the site on which you want to enable anonymous access.
On the Site Actions menu , click Site Settings.
Note On a site for which the Site Actions menu is customized, point to Site Settings, and then click the settings that you want to view.

On the Site Settings page, in the Users and Permissions column, click Advanced permissions.
On the Permissions page, on the Settings menu, click Anonymous Access.
On the Change Anonymous Access Settings page, select the parts of your Web site that you want anonymous users to access.
Then click SAVE
